Spiritual intelligence
Spiritual Intelligence is defined as the ability to behave with wisdom and compassion maintaining inner and outer equanimity regardless of the circumstances. Individuals’ actions in a given situation determine his Spiritual quotient. Spiritual Intelligence is concerned with one's inner self and its relationship with the world outside. It is the most fundamental intelligence and not necessarily religious or dependent on religion as its foundation. It is the intelligence we use to develop our capacity for meaning, vision and value.
It can be defined as:
- Self-Awareness
- Capacity to face and use adversity to learn
- Ability to see the larger picture
- Field Independence (Courage): a term from psychology that means the courage not to adapt, to be independent. The tendency to ask fundamental questions.
- Capacity to be spontaneously adaptive. Ability to see unity in diversity, Quality of being inspired by vision and values.
